An embedded system has to meet various challenges throughout its design and implementation. The over all performance of the system can be improved through special purpose hardware and software. ARM processor architecture along with RTOS helps the embedded system designer to have optimal control over hardware and software implementation. The application software can be embedded with RTOS for effective implementations. To satisfy the industrial needs, MODBUS protocol is commonly employed in various applications. The work described in this paper consists of porting "μCos-II" RTOS on ARM 7 processor (LPC 2148) and implementation of MODBUS network protocol. The protocol has been implemented and system is tested successfully. |
